The Rott Childs have released a vinyl reprint of Alleluia, A Brit Milah In G Melodic Minor in tribute to their bass player Florent Pevée, who tragically passed away late last year. Here is the missive the band sent…
On November 29th of 2013 we lost our close friend and bassplayer FLORENT PEVÉE. Florent was 22 years young and taken from us way too soon.
We first got to know him as the crazy young and only kid going berserk at our shows, screaming and airdrumming. Later we played a surprise gig at his birthday. Then his own band KABUL GOLF CLUB played and blew our minds. (watch Demon Days)
A year later, we asked Florent to join THE ROTT CHILDS on bass. (watch Pretty Diamond)
These past years we got to know Florent as an amazingly talented, sometimes quiet, extremely loud, intelligent, funny, magical friend and musician. We are grateful for the times we got to spend together playing shows, ditching months of rehearsals for swimming and crappy barbecues, writing and recording a record in our attic, screaming in cars, dreaming up ridiculous plans,… everything.
To his friends and bandmates in KGC and TRC he will always be our young blood, inspiring us to chase magic. Florent left a huge mark both in our lives and with his music.
In commemoration of Florent, House Rott Child Records is releasing a VINYL REPRINT of “Alleluia, A Brit Milah In G Melodic Minor” with an innersleeve portrait of Floky by Eric Sefton.
The Rott Childs also recorded a new song called ‘We Were Sleeping’ featuring Rosie Tuti Gran from Jamaica on vocals, dedicated to our little Maestro.

After much delibiration, we decided to keep the spirit of Florent alive by playing shows again. Performing the songs that we’ve written together seems like the best possible homage we can pay to our brother. Longtime friend Yorgos Tsakiridis (The Hickey Underworld) will be our Robert Trujillo, minus the one million dollars. First show will be april 10th, De Kreun, Kortrijk (BE) with Gruppo Di Pawlowski.
