Oneohtrix Point Never will celebrate Record Store Day on April 19th with the 12″ release Commissions I on Warp Records. Comprised of three tracks, the EP will bring together pieces that have been commissioned for various art, performance, and film works. For instance, “Music For Steamed Rocks” was originally performed at Sacrum Profanum‘s 2013 Polish Icons festival celebrating the works of 20th century composer Witold Lutoslawski, and this track is an interpretation of Lutoslawski’s Preludes.
Also included on Commissions I will be the track “Meet Your Creator,” which initially appeared in Saatch & Saatchi‘s Quadrotor performance, as well as OPN’s interpretation of the classic pop track “I Only Have Eyes For You” which was created for Doug Aitken‘s “Happening” at the Hirschorn Museum. Oneohtrix Point Never will embark on a world tour beginning later this month, and we have the announced dates below!
