High-Functioning Flesh is an industrial punk outfit out of LA, and they conjure up the early days of the genre with a sound and energy in the vein of acts like Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle, Chrome, Godflesh, etc. On March 30th the duo will release A Unity of Miseries – A Misery of Unities via the Atlanta-based label DKA Records, and in anticipation of the new album Greg Vand and Susan Subtract have posted this optically damaged offering for their killer track “Self Management“! Directed by the band in conjunction with J. Sharaf El Deen of LIFEBLOOD TV, the team uses some seriously glitched-out videocam visuals, achieving the perfect “vintage” look for the track; and it’s the small details that really make this video, like, Vand and Susan Subtract’s nerdy, buttoned-up look, Vand’s Thomas Dolby-esque eyewear and awkward camera-ways, Subtract’s too-die-for combat boots, and the way the pair both dance like they’re squashing formidably sized cockroaches! High Functioning Flesh will play two upcoming live dates in CA, and you can check those out after the video embed…
