Vancouver punks White Lung will release their Drown With The Monster 7″ via Domino Records on April 29th, and today we check out their tres rad performance video for the record’s kick-ass title track! Directed by the videographer/photographer Steven Andrew Garcia, and filmed at The Echo in LA before a rambunctious audience, White Lung perform here with Wax Idols’ singer Hether Fortune on bass, while laying down some their heaviest, angst-driven sonics yet! In discussing the video, White Lung’s singer Mish Way explains:
“I was looking at these pieces by Andrea Mary Marshall in The New Inquiry and there was this quote from her, ‘Toxic Women are toxic to themselves. They are Tragic Heroines who blow dry their own wounds. I aspire to be the opposite.’ This song is about kicking habits and running away with a new distraction. It’s a song about my two biggest vices, but I’d rather drown with the monster than blow dry my wounds.”
Look for White Lung to play two upcoming shows in NYC this coming June. You can find those dates after the video embed.
