Last month we checked out Sculpture‘s visual antics for the track “Polymorphic Operator“, off the duo’s upcoming LP Membrane Pop, due out May 13th via the Software Label, and today we have their latest video for “Hackle Scam Populator“. Sculpture brings together the UK musician Dan Hayhurst and New Zealand animator Reuben Sutherland, and their “opto-musical” approach is a playful, exhilarating take on modern electronic music. “Hackle Scam Populator” uses mellowed Jungle rhythms, dubbed-out Acid atmospheres, and analogue sounding computer tones that bounce about as the track takes on greater degrees of complexity, before eventually developing anomalies and mutations that threaten the whole of it’s genetic structure. Sutherland provides some amazing visuals by animating ascending and descending scales of geometric and cell-like structures to create an inexplicable visual order of hypnotizing vastness!
