The Skull Defekts excellent 2014 LP Dances in Dreams of the Known Unknown is out now on Thrill Jockey, and earlier this year we saw the band’s stellar time-lapse video for “Awaking Dream“, by the film-maker Nanna Dalunde. Today we take a look at the Swedish band’s newest video offering for “The Known Unknown“, created by the visual artist Joe Denardo. Presenting an eye melting collage of distressed compositing, as air force jets and football players collide in an apocalyptic maelstrom of spectral imagery, the video provides a great analogue for Joachim Nordwall‘s eviscerating lyrics, and this track’s searing sonics. The Skull Defekts will be performing as a quintet with Daniel Higgs, and they kick off a short US tour in Chicago at The Empty Bottle on April 29th.
