Oozing Wound crash down to earth with this blazing behemoth of a track for Adult Swims’ “Singles” series…”Drug Reference” thrashes out in high octane aggression as guitarist Zack Weil mans his flaming ax with abandon, while bassist Kevin Cribbin and drummer Kyle Reynolds bash out battering-ram rhythms at a breakneck pace! Capable of turning on a dime, or melting down into molten, low-end lava, before redoubling it’s ragged head banging with new levels of violence, this cut is also replete with Weils’ demon-child howls, and all references to drugs are more than implied! Oozing Wound have a new LP coming, Earth Suck, due out October 21st on Thrill Jockey, and word from the label reports that the band recorded the new effort over three days with Chicago producer/engineer Matt Russell. Look for Oozing Wound to tour in support of the upcoming record, but no dates have been announced yet…
