Since 2013, the Atlanta-based electronic label CGI Records has turned out a heady stream of club oriented tracks, while cultivating a cutting edge roster of underground artists, so it’s always good news to hear when the label has a brand new mix available for download! You can always count on the CGIMix series to bring you a killer collection of tracks by some up-and-coming producer, with notable past efforts curated by musicians such as Detroit’s Shady P (F.A.M.E. Collective and How To Kill Records), DJ Stefan ‘REKchampa’ Ringer, or even label head Matt Weiner‘s TWINS project, for the recent 7.0 offering, “Future Sound Of CGI“. Vol. 8.0 has been mixed by Brooklyn’s CH Rom, and the label reports:
“Rom may be new to some but with such a striking and unique take on dance music he will soon be known to many”.
“The Other Side Of” is tagged MutantClubShit, and the nearly 40 minute dance-oriented mix is indeed packed full of hard grooves and gnarly late night beats from CGI stalwarts like C Powers (Cc) and TWINS, UK producers Tessela, Mumdance, or Hyperdub recording artist Ikonika, as well as rising talents like Cirqa and Black Suede.
