Listen: Hookworms “The Impasse”

Hookworms play a psychedelically combustible form of noise punk, and the UK 5-piece will follow-up their critically lauded 2013 LP Pearl Mystic with The Hum, due out on November 10th via the Domino Records imprint Weird World. “The Impasse” needs all of only two minutes and forty-five seconds to completely shred eardrums with it’s corrosive cocktail of sonics. The track starts with what sounds like a broken effects petal on repeat, before drums break thru the noise screen pounding a rollicking beat. However, things really blast off when the whole band jumps in…organ, guitar, bass, and vocals in a wild circus of explosive, scream-along sound–before the band closes the cut by crash landing into an electric fire of flaming static and speaker hiss! Hookworms have live dates scheduled for the fall, but you’ll have to live in France or the UK to catch ’em. Check the dates below…
