Iceage will release their upcoming LP Plowing Into The Field Of Love on October 7th via Matador Records, and today we take a look at the band’s new video for “Forever“. Directed by Catherine Pattinama Coleman, this is ostensibly a performance video set in what appears to be the living room of a house, and the choice to use what little light was naturally available in the room lends an intimate, Dogme 95 feel to the video.
Singer Elias Bender Rønnenfelt looks a bit like a cross between Johnny Depp and Nick Cave here, and like the later, croons like a true balladeer! Though, while Cave’s lyrics tend to fit more neatly into a storytelling mode, on a track like “Forever,” Rønnenfelt’s writing is pure Romantic poetry, buttressed by a thrilling vocal delivery that squeezes every ounce of drama from his deeply felt words! Iceage return to the US this October for an extensive tour, so check the dates below…
