Watch: Foul Tip “Madness”

The Chicago noise punk duo Foul Tip really bring the wood on their new their new split 7″ with Lil’ Tits, and now you can catch the “Madness” too! Originally hailing from Iowa, drummer/vocalist Ed Bornstein and bassist/vocalist Adam Luksetich formed the band a week before their first tour, after their original group, for which the shows had been booked, had already fallen apart! Since that time Bornstein and Luksetich have relocated to the Windy City, becoming regular fixtures in Chicago’s thriving punk rock underground. On “Madness”, the boys unleash squalls of scuzzy low-end and pedal-effected sleaze, in the fine tradition of other bass and drum duo’s such as Big Business and Lightning Bolt, but what really makes this track go is the pair’s spastic vocal sparring, as they trade whip-smart lines while tag teaming on the cut’s double barreled refrain: “Cut this out/Can’t go back/I don’t care/I caught the madness…”
Directed by Aaron Preusch and Foul Tip, the video for the track features heaps o’ eyecrust and optical scuzz, as B-movie psychotronics meet low budget green screening, with plenty of headbanging thrown in for good measure! If you’re wondering about the motley crew here, the band has this to report:

“In the video are friends, my neighbor, my wife, and members of Toupee, AbstractBlack, Zigtebra, Waddupp Sonnn, Truck or Dead Horse, and T’bone. The guy who puts on lipstick and slaps his own face is working on his own brand of flavored fizzy waters! I shot all that GoPro headbanging footage a couple of years ago, knowing that it would get used for something.”

You can grab your copy of “Madness” via Captcha Records, but don’t stop there! The label also has Foul Tips’ Heaven Now available on limited edition cassette, and word is the long-player Forever Driftn’ is on it’s way. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know more!
