New York electronic artist Tallesen will release his Stills Lit Through LP on November 11th via Software Recording Co.The work of the musician Cayman Johnson, he says of the new record: “The music is saturated with information for it to remain flexible to it’s surroundings, ambience with a modern degree of attention.” “Emmel” is a great example of this, building a barrage of layers from seemingly random beat patches and sequencer overload to create a constantly shifting foreground of references. The result is akin to media overload, and unable to find a “ground” by which to framework the track’s growing sonic complexity, we are forced to surrender our mind’s need to categorize for a more “pure” experience of listening! The video for the track is directed by DG Cohen, who has also done eye melting work for Garland, Pete Swanson, etc., and here his DMT visuals pan thru hypnagogic fields of ocular lava and metallic magma, suggesting far-out, alien fields of awareness.
