Sure, these days it seems the prolific garage-pop troubadour Ty Segall can do anything, but levitate mid guitar jam? Now, I’ve seen it all! “The Singer” is directed by Matt Yoka, he also directed Segall’s most recent visual effort, the interactive video for “Manipulator“, and here he places the snazzily clad singer/guitarist into another crowded tableau. This one resembles a messy loft apartment, complete with exposed brick and a clutter of half packed boxes, and while Segall starts the video alone, switching on the camera himself, he is soon joined by a spectral, blue-glowing band…complete with a violinist seated atop the refrigerator! Ty Segall kicks off a tour of Europe and Australia later this month, so don’t miss the dates below. Oh yeah, you can find “The Singer” on Segall’s Manipulator LP, out now on Drag City!
