The Australian four-piece Nite Fields will release their Depersonalisation LP on February 3rd via Felte. While the band originally hails from the more conservative confines of Brisbane, the quartet met in Sydney, and now splits their time between the two cities. Work on Depersonalisation was completed over a four year stretch, with the band recording in over twenty different locations including, “garages, bedrooms, borrowed studios, stairwells and a restaurant dining room after hours”. On the track “Prescription“, Nite Fields’ post-punk and shoegaze leanings come together in a seductive package. Built around the downwardly spiraling interplay between the band’s guitar and bass, on the track singer/songwriter Danny Venzin croons in warm chromatics–often turning phrases with a kind of incisive irony that cuts so sharp you might not even realize you’ve been hit! “Prescription” might not be the soothing anodyne you thought, but necessary medicine none the less. Nite Fields embark on a tour of Russian and Europe later this month, so here are those dates:
