Watch: Frank & Tony “What You Believe”

When it comes to sophisticated and sexy house music, Frank & Tony sure know how to bring the goods! “What You Believe” is off the duo’s 2014 12″ Frank & Tony Presents…, and this low-slung A-side melts the kick drum and bass into a dreamy throb, before adding kinetic percussive elements and deeply sublimated organ chords. Meanwhile, an oblique vocal track discusses issues of identity and self-hood, making for an interesting narrative line that will have you moving your feet and brain in body/mind synchronicity! The video for the track is directed by Jason Poranski, and it cobbles together various strands of what appears to be found footage–of the 8mm home movie variety. Vignettes include a day on the beach oyster farming, christmas by the tree, winter storms, and a kid with a tupperware full of strange black slime. You know, the kinds of things that make you go, “hmmmm”.
