UK producer Clark will release his Flame Rave EP on March 24th via Warp Records. Today we preview the upcoming album with the track “Silver Sun.” Discussing the track in the SoundCloud post for the cut, the artist reveals that he started making “ravey tunes to play out at gigs,” and as cuts like “Silver Sun” gained momentum he soon found himself with an EP’s worth of material.
This track follows an emotive but tarnished synth phrase– something like an exhausted arpeggio trying to catch it’s breath as it filters thru the damp night air with a rusty resonance. “Silver Sun” is a bit of a creeper, though. Like a slow dissolving pill, it takes effect a little bit at a time. However, just after the two minute mark, when the full beat drops, nimbly shuffling a broken rhythm, you realize you’re quite mashed!
Clark will play a bunch of US live dates this coming spring, including a stop at Chicago’s Pitchfork Music Festival in July. Check ’em out…
