Lee Bannon dropped this sick set for Boiler Room‘s “Upfront” series, and it’s an exclusive mix featuring unreleased tracks and remixes from the artist. Bannon is currently preparing a new LP release for Ninja Tune, the follow-up to 2014’s excellent Alternate/Endings album, and word from the label is that in recent months the musician has been “hibernating in the studio” in preparation. This set, then, is a peak in on things to come, and it reveals just how far and wide ranging the producers interests can run! Though, what continues to be most intriguing is Bannon’s facility for alien ambiance and unsettling negative space. Cinematic in all the best ways, this set reveals the musician to be a brilliant sonic storyteller capable of creating the kind of music you can both see and feel!
