Bronze Teeth’s Richard Smith also makes his own music as L/F/D/M, and following up on his excellent 2015 long player, M Is A Shape (Ecstatic), the artist has his Psychopaths Eating Jelly EP out now on CGI Records. This new effort finds Smith exploring a really jacked acid house vibe across it’s four dance-floor oriented cuts. “Heavy Clouds” leads off the back side, and it gets right down to business with interlocking bass grooves and third-eye chiseling hi-hats. Phasing bass lines have that familiar acid gurgle here, but instead of a jaw clinching strychnine ride, Smith subtly manipulates them into waves of propulsive groove. Meanwhile, icy cymbal play and chalky claps weave intricate rhythmic patterns throughout, making this a real nimble-footed face melter!
