Bay-area techno producer Matrixxman is readying his Homesick LP for release on July 10th via Ghostly International. Like much of Charles Duff‘s work, this new effort is cinematic in scope as it follows a dystopian, sci-fi narrative across it’s long-playing album arc. Today we check out the musician’s second offering from the upcoming record, “Hit Me Up” featuring Duff’s sometimes sonic collaborator Vin Sol.
Acid-leaning, but without the strychnine phasing, this track is a steady burning 909 workout that never looses its head of steam as it expertly pilots a steady progression along paths of least resistance. Following noir clues like a blade runner hunting a skin job in some near-future metropolis, Duff is unrelenting in his pursuit as he layers throbbing bass over hectic drum-lines while tailing his lead into a teaming neon fog.
Matrixxman will play Piknik in Montreal this coming Sunday. You can check out a complete list of his upcoming live dates right here…
