The Olympia post-punk trio Strange Wilds signed to Sub Pop late last year and will release their debut for the label, Subjective Concepts, on July 24th. “Pronoia“, the album’s first single from this past April, offered shades of Nirvana glory with it’s urgent, dynamic shifts and verse/chorus/verse structure; while “Starved For“, the band’s newest offering, charges forward with a defiant head of steam and some serious attitude. While these guys aren’t trying to rewrite the book on grunge, they definitely approach it with the kind of fervent energy and raucous discord it deserves.
