The young French producer Superpoze released his debut LP Opening via his own label, Combien Mille Records, this month. Using meticulously crafted and personally created samples, the musician says that Opening represents an evolution in his sound, and that it finds him “focusing on melody as never before”. The results can be heard on this ultra-smooth cut “Ten Lakes“, but as listening reveals, the melodic elements here are understated in the best of ways. Built from a palette of found sounds and emotive instrumental snippets, Superpoze teases melody from these unlikely and itinerant sources, while using his masterful rhythmic sense to build the kind of sensually inclined techno that is perfect for late night lovers!
