Death Grips‘ 2xLP The Powers That B is out now via Harvest/Third Worlds, and this weekend the band released this new video for the track of the same name. Directed by the group, and featuring MC Ride and Zach Hill as they perform the Sisyphean task of re-stuffing giant bean bags in some random hotel room, the visuals feature hectic pacing, jumbled edits, and, of course, bean bag cam! Is this the aftermath from some other upcoming video? With Death Grips you never know–and that’s what’s so awesome.
Speaking of “don’t know”, Death Grips also made news this weekend when a Twitter account associated with the band shared a download link for an album called I’ve always been good at true love, by a mysterious group called the I.L.Y’s. The album was also hosted via Death Grip’s website, and, as Pitchfork pointed out: “Reddit users noted that the phrase “the sickest fuck of them all,” the title of a track on the album, appears on a shirt worn in the “I Seen Footage” video”. We’ll let you go ahead and decide for yourself whether you hear members of Death Grips in this new project or not…
