No Joy‘s More Faithful LP is out today on Mexican Summer. In addition, the band has this quirky new video for the stellar track “Everything New“. Directed by Montreal video artist Jason Harvey, and featuring cameos from bands like Best Coast, Baths, King Tuff, Cold Showers, Soft Pack and Grooms, these visuals imagine what would happen if random pieces of garbage accumulated themselves together and gained sentience. It all starts when one wad of crumpled paper is tossed from the band van, and determined to not be discarded it joins forces with other bits of forgotten detritus–before recognizing itself thru the universal experience: “I text, therefor I am”. After announcing itself to the world with an obligatory “OMG”, this meat-lipped hunk of junk gets right down to business and decides it’s horny:)
