Listen: Blond:ish “Endless Games”

The Canadian duo Blond:ish are readying their debut LP Endless Games, due out on Kompakt Records, but till then the ladies have this digital only release of their title track, with remixes by Patrice Bäumel. Continuing to work out of a studio they constructed in Tulum, Mexico, “Endless Games” blends mysterious, noir-leaning techno with plaintive vocals, for a track with enough bump to satisfy dance floor urges, as well as more solitary endeavors too. And while this formula is tried and true, Blond:ish makes it their own through the inclusion of intriguing found sounds recorded during their travels. Speaking recently with Ibiza Spotlight, Anstascia D’Elene Corniere explained:

“Having live samples in our music is really important to us. On the album we were making snares out of the blue jays chirping outside our window or running after the coconut vendor on the beach to catch a sample. We carry our zoom field recorder and like this we have a little piece recorded of everywhere we go; all our travels are in our music. It’s like an audible diary (ish)… some keep memories with photographs, and we keep a little audible memory in all our tracks. It adds a different dimension to music – something you can’t completely recreate with computers.”

Blond:ish will travel the world over the next month and a half with shows from Kiev to Rio. Check out the upcoming jet setting dates here…
