Sorcerer‘s awesome new track “Drop Shadow” sounds something like going backward and forward in time simultaneously. Daniel Judd employs a groove oriented style with nods to his interests in surf music, Kraut rock, 80’s dance pop and jazz all coming together in a forward and stylish sounding blend. While this track’s bass and organ driven vibe might conjure the golden days of disco, Judd’s tact here is an ultra-fresh re-imagining that follows an unmistakeable island drift when guitar and congas come to the party. Sure, it might be hard to resist the infectious drum break at “Drop Shadow”‘s midpoint, but if you want to sit this one out for a little cosmic mind tripping, this cut’s the perfect accompaniment too!
