Watch: Strange Wilds “Pronoia”

1856

Olympia, WA’s Strange Wilds released their debut LP Subjective Concepts this month via Sub Pop, and today we check out the band’s new video for “Pronoia“. Directed by David Hoekje, and featuring the group performing in a large room piled with heaps of trash, the video is also intercut with a surreal array of vignettes and projected images. While the video credits describing this as “peoples’ struggles against Capitalism and the machine” might be a lofty proclamation, Hoekje’s attempt to visually depict the kind of isolation and warped imaginings such social conditions breed mostly hit the mark.
Look for Strange Wilds to play a few shows in Washington next month. Here are the upcoming dates…
Sun, Aug 9 Old School Pizzeria, Olympia, , WA. (LATE SHOW!!! w/ Vexx, CCTV, Big Zit)
Sun, Aug 9 Chop Suey, Seattle, WA (w/ Screaming Females, Vacation, Big Crux)
Mon, Aug 10 New Frontier Lounge, Tacoma, WA (w/ Fell to Low)
