Toronto continues to turn out some killer grunge…Meet friends and bandmates Katie Monks and Liz Ball, of the Canadian four piece Dilly Dally. Having grown up with a love for the Pixies and Nirvana, these gals have long plotted their sonic ascent up the ladder of indie rock royalty. The self-taught guitarists cemented their band by adding Benjamin Reinhartz on drums and Jimmy Tony on bass, and the group will release their debut LP Sore on October 9th via Partisan and Buzz Records.
Today, we check out Dilly Dally’s new video for “Desire“. Directed by Benjamin Dabu, the Vevo selected video divides it’s time between an elaborate sound stage, and gritty vignettes involving the band members as characters. While some over handed art direction ends up getting in the way, with a few panty shots providing some truly cringe-worthy results, “Desire” mostly has the right energy visually, capturing this cut’s infectious and exuberant vibe.
