The amazing psych guitarist Ben Chasny of Six Organs of Admittance is currently playing select West coast dates this month, and if you live in Seattle you can catch him tomorrow night at the Freemont Abbey Arts Center. Today we checkout “Hexadic Talk with Ben Chasny of Six Organs of Admittance“, in which the musician discusses and demonstrates his aleatory system for composing music. Billed as “How to Party With Long-Dead Occult Philosophers, Math, and Your Guitar”, this video provides an up close look at the deck of cards and “instruction” manual that Chasny has developed as a tool for expanding the routes to creative production. Fascinating throughout, things really take off when Chasny and a fellow guitarist sit down to a game of Triadic Movements, with Elisa Ambrogio of Magik Markers dealing the “dueling” guitarists their hands.
