Stellar OM Source released her fantastic Nite-Glo EP via RVNG Intl. earlier this summer. The four tracks on the record were composed during a period of transience in Christelle Gualdi‘s life, and she recorded the cuts in her mobile studio using a live hardware set-up. Nite-Glo displays the musician’s impeccable ear for acid house, as well as her facility with analog gear like the 303. Bouncy, elastic bass lines throb and filter with varying degrees of strychnine, as razor sharp rhythms drive these tracks with their inventive patterning.
Today, we watch the Stellar OM Source video for “Live“, one of Nite-Glo‘s B-side offerings. Directed by the video artist Johann Rashid, and starring his good friend Adrienne Smith, the black and white video follows Smith on her sojourns thru the city at night. A sense of isolation plays throughout, even amid the bustle of the city, but it gives way finally to her giddy, infectious outburst of kinetic energy.
