Oneohtrix Point Never‘s upcoming LP Garden of Delete is due out November 13th via Warp Records and today we listen to his new track “Mutant Standard“. The follow-up to the album’s lead single “I Bite Through It,” this most recent offering has a truly eerie and off planet vibe. Daniel Lopatin‘s peripatetic compositional style is in full effect here which means all kinds of fractured sonic elements appear and disappear while a wandering sense of forward motion continues throughout. Tuned to a mutant sensibility, alien ambiance seems to have become the new norm, and this track’s machine-like rhythms seem far from human.
Daniel Lopatin has recently teamed back up with his visual collaborator Nate Boyce during a recent EMPAC residency, and the two will take the show on the road this fall. That means you can catch Oneohtrix Point Never live in select cities in the US and Europe. Here is a list of those dates…
