Dream Koala will release his new EP Exodus on December 4th. The follow-up to this young French-Brazilian producer’s outstanding 2014 EP Earth.Home.Destroyed, this new 3-song work continues his achingly beautiful sonic critique of the state of the modern world. The musician, whose real name is Yndi Ferreira, explains:
“These three songs complement and deepen the universe that I started to create with my previous EP . These are fragments that intertwine and eventually form a narrative. The arrangements are more dynamic and reflect the dark, epic and mysterious side of the lyrics. I wanted to plunge the listener in the heart of my imagination.”
“Dimension Sleeper” seems to slip between waking and dreams with seductive and liquid ease. While others might explore humankind’s dystopian future with a bleaker sonic palette, Ferreira’s elegant synth pop is fraught with beauty and melancholy here. Thrillingly arranged, what really stuns, though, is this musician’s gifted vocal abilities. Even while exploring these more abstract and science fiction-inspired lyrics, his voice soars with emotive ease.
