Kensaye "Mazu"
Kensaye “Mazu”
UK-based producer Kensaye delivers some delicious ear candy on his new track, “Mazu“. Named after the ancient Chinese goddess of the sea who protects fishermen and sailors, this cut’s laid back and peripatetic groove seamlessly blends syncopated rhythmic elements with mercurial vocal samples for a stylish bit of well-traveled pop. Uncluttered and airy in the best of ways, Kensaye layers a subdued and organic sounding sonic palette with wide-eyed ease, and as he progresses the track, each port of call offers some new and tantalizing surprise. Kensaye reports he’s back to the grind of a 9-to-5, after a bit of a sabbatical caring for his newborn son, and while that time off allowed him some creative freedom to work on new music, we sure hope “the job” doesn’t get in the way of future productions!
