Not one, but “Two Snakes“…yikes! None’s enough for me. The Body, though, I’ll take some of that please. The duo is getting set to release their No One Deserves Happiness LP on March 18th via Thrill Jockey, and this blackened bit of horror “pop” is on the upcoming effort. “Two Snakes” might have started with a bass-line inspired by Beyoncé, but it’s been reworked into something far more tortured! The video finds the band working once again with Richard Rankin, who directed chilling and unforgettable visuals for their tracks, “To Carry The Seeds Of Death Within Me” and “Shrouded”. Frightening stuff (snuff), indeed! Here, Rankin’s protagonist is someone’s granny, composited in queasy neon colors over a thick helping of visual mud, and it’s a fitting accompaniment to this gut-wrenching track.
The Body has select live dates planned for this month and next. You can check them out here…
