Listen: Raime “Dead Heat”

1862

The UK production duo Raime will return this year with their 2xLP Tooth due out June 10th via Blackest Ever Black. Today we take a listen to “Dead Heat“, the first single from Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead‘s upcoming eight song effort. Following an electro-acoustic tact, this new track seamlessly blends a tightly wound and angst-filled guitar line with a meticulous and minimal dub aesthetic. Even when only working with two or three sonic elements there’s a richness of detail here that borders on the violent. Cavernous bass blasts and piercing, bird-like cries add drama to the track’s hard hitting percussive elements while a guitar desperately circles in an effort to ward off what sounds like mounting evil.
BEB reports that Raime will play an intimate live show to launch the album at Birthdays in London on June 4th at 8pm.
