The Body‘s No One Deserves Happiness LP is out now on Thrill Jockey and today we watch the duo’s new video for “The Fall and the Guilt“. Cold blue piano cords push thru a cemetery mist of processed cello and guitar while a heavy rain of white noise falls on this track. Chip King‘s distinct and eerie howls are replaced here by Chrissy Wolpert‘s stoic vocals, and when she sings “No touch warms” you believe her! The video for the cut is directed by Joe Martinez, and it contrasts The Body’s monkish denial by focusing one long shot on a male/female couple engaged in a passionate embrace and kiss. Thanatos and Eros together again on that proverbial “beach of sex and death”. I wouldn’t expect any less from The Body.
