John Carpenter has an excellent new in-studio video for his epic track “Distant Dream“, the first single off Lost Themes II which is due out April 15th on Sacred Bones. Filmed live at The Village Recorder studio in Los Angeles, and directed by The Horror Master himself, we also get to watch Carpenter playing synthesizer with his stellar band. He is accompanied here by the creative nucleus for Lost Themes II, with son Cody Carpenter playing synthesizer and godson Daniel Davies on guitar. The trio was also responsible for 2015’s Lost Themes, Carpenter’s first LP of non-soundtrack music. That effort was created over several years when the three lived in seperate cities, while the group’s upcoming album was recorded with all the players living and creating in Los Angeles. This in-studio video also includes drummer Scott Seiver, bassist John Spiker, as well as guitarist John Konesky, and it reveals that Carpenter has assembled quite an accomplished musical crew for his upcoming live gigs. The band heads out later in May to play select live dates in Europe, the US, and UK. Here is the list…
