The best way to appreciate SUNN O)))‘s massive sonic power has always been live! It should be no wonder, then, that the band’s first ever visit to Russia last year, commemorated by their upcoming triple live album NOLIFE: Alive in Moscow 11 August 2015, is already speculated to be the best doom metal record of 2016.
The band’s groundbreaking visit to Moscow in the summer of 2015 was recorded directly from the auditorium’s soundboard, as well as by an audience member. The two recordings were then synched, and sent off to Audiosiege in Portland to be mixed by Joel Grind and mastered by Brad Boatright. Due out May 29th via Southern Lord Records, look for NOLIFE: Alive in Moscow 11 August 2015 to come out as a limited pressing on triple 12″ vinyl, housed in the killer Stoughton gatefold jacket you see pictured above.
