Listen: Thee Oh Sees “Plastic Plant”

Thee Oh Sees call this cut “Plastic Plant“, but wall flower it ain’t! You’ll find the track on the group’s upcoming album A Weird Exits, due out August 12th via Castle Face Records. While Thee Oh Sees will also release Live In San Francisco on July 1st via the label, this is their first new material since last year’s, Mutilator Defeated At Last. John Dwyer has reloaded the band for this new effort adding two drummers, Ryan Moutinho and Dan Rincon to the fold, and they round out a powerful rhythm section that includes the project’s recent bassist Tim Hellman.

Dwyer unleashes volcanic helpings of smoldering guitar on “Plastic Plant“, as musical ideas seem to flow effortlessly from his instrument like plumes of black smoke. Buoyant, hypnotic bass-tones cement the track, allowing the group’s two drummers to get all kinds of wild and free around its pulsing groove. Dwyer adds his nitrous-huffing vocals to the track as “Plastic Plant” melts into a candy colored dream inside a dream.
