Jezgro is a Serbian-based electronic label run by Ontal‘s Darko Kolar, and today we check out its’ inaugural release, MRTVI‘s TIJERAZO MORTAL EP. Kolar reports that Jezgro will represent “obscure, dark and heavy parts of the electronic scene”, and this first offering, complete with an angst-ridden remix of the EP’s title track by Violet Poison, does not disappoint. MRTVI is the musician Dave Foster, and since the late-90’s he has made ambient and noise-driven techno in notable projects like Huren and Teste–though TIJERAZO MORTAL seems to be his first release under this new moniker.

A bright, lacerating wave of white noise opens the track “IVUKTON“, before it simmers in a basement hum of ghostly resonances and machine drone. While it sounds something like falling asleep under the factory you work in, the EP’s second track “IBUKRON“, might be the source of your workday lethargy. A pounding tangle of industrial rhythms drives this late night cut, while live wire jolts of electricity fuel its’ kinetic spasms. What better way to forget long shifts at the widget factory than dancing your face off all thru the night! “IBUKRON”, and its’ follow-up, the EP’s title track, offer the chance to do just that. Intensely beat-driven, these dense rhythms are perfect for leaving your mind far behind as you lose yourself in the body’s uncontrollable somatic response. The EP closes with a Violet Poison remix of “TIJERAZO MORTAL“, and the Italian producer adds a serious dusting of scuzz to it while twisting the cut’s vocal content into a nightmare-inducing dialogue of cackling demons.

While you’re at it, Ontal‘s recent mix for The Brvtalist further dials in on the Jezgro sonic aesthetic with 24 tracks of exhilaratingly harsh and industrial techno. The perfect noise to feed your hungry robot!
