Listen to Blanck Mass’ Track “Silent Treatment”:

Blanck Mass released a new track this week called “Silent Treatment“, off Benjamin John Power‘s upcoming LP World Eater due out March 3rd via Sacred Bones. Power has explained that the album title refers to the “inner beast inside human beings that when grouped en-masse stops us from moving forward towards good.”

“Silent Treatment” is built around an array of choral samples. Moving between passages of restrained intensity and exhilarating explosions of forwarding movement, Power composes these voices with operatic drama. Forming a head spinning polyphony of competing viewpoints, “Silent Treatment” resembles a city teeming with diversity–even as these voices threaten to cancel each other out in a barely articulate cacophony. Don’t let all this “noise” full you, though. Power says, “Silent Treatment’ is about the problems that arise when we don’t communicate. We often grow apart when we don’t understand each other. Being left in the dark can lead to fear.” So friends, neighbors, let’s talk this shit out!
