Let’s finish the week listening to Meatbodies‘ track “Haunted History“. You can find the song on the LA-based band’s new LP ALICE, out today on In the Red Records. Billed as an “11-track concept album covering war, sex, politics, and religion”, the album is currently streaming in full via Stereogum. Recorded by Eric Bauer and the band’s Chad Ubovich at The Bauer Mansion in San Francisco, ALICE bristles with glammed-up psychedelia. On “Haunted History”, the trio sounds something like T. Rex huffing a mysterious package of Ziggy’s star dust, and let’s just say that brings back some good memories–even if the history is a bit haunted! Plenty of buzzing low end buoys a meaty hook here, while the band’s glassy eyed vocalist adds zoned-out lyrics from Mars.
