Listen to Marissa Nadler’s Track “Rosemary” off the Our First 100 Years Compilation.

Marissa Nadler‘s track “Rosemary” is part of the Our First 100 Days Compilation. Seeking to raise funds for causes under threat from the Trump administration, the compilation gathers together 100 new tracks from artists like Angel Olsen, Toro Y Moi, Helado Negro, The Range, as well as tons more. According to the project: “All profits raised from Our First 100 Days will go directly to organizations working on the front lines of climate, women’s rights, immigration and fairness”, so this is a sure fire way to acquire a whole bunch of great new music while benefiting some worthy causes.

Marissa Nadler says that the track “Rosemary” is brand new and was recorded at home, before adding, “It’s a terrifying time right now and I suppose one of the few consolations is the unifying quality of art and music.” This lovely cut aches like a stinging bruise, and when Nadler sings the very personal sentiment, “I can’t go back/I don’t want to go back/To that house and that life again”, it seems like a perfect summation of all that is at stake socially and politically.

Marissa Nadler is currently on tour in the US. You can check out her upcoming dates after the Bandcamp embed, below.
