The Buttertones‘ excellent 2017 LP Gravedigging is out now on Innovative Leisure and this week the LA band dropped a new video for the album’s title track. Discussing the record, the band’s guitarist Dakota Boettcher explains:
“We all love movies so much. When you listen to a soundtrack, it has peaks and it has lows, but it’s a whole journey. That’s what we want to do. We want you to go on a journey.”
It seems only appropriate, then, that the group has chosen directors David Gantz and Theo Cohn to helm their new visual project. Adept at transforming short format stories into mini-epics, Gantz and Cohen’s new video stars Trevor Wright and Emily Brooks in a Westworld like drama that pits a ragged outlaw against a beautiful Siren and a town full of brain eating zombies.
Look for The Buttertones to launch a brief West Coast tour later this August. You can find a list of the upcoming dates after the YouTube embed below. While you’re at it, checkout photos from The Buttertones’ recent Seattle performance at the Chop Suey from earlier this year.
