It’s been a busy year for Lapalux so far. This past June he released his Ruinism LP (Brainfeeder), as well as visually arresting videos for the album tracks “Data Demon” and “Petty Passion.” On October 13th, Stuart Howard will return with the release his The End Of Industry EP, also via Brainfeeder. As the title might suggest, and as Howard explains, the new music resembles “the current automated world we’re now living in,” before adding, “Computerized machines are now taking over a vast majority of industrial tasks and this EP is a window into that transitioning world.”
To that end, the tracks on the upcoming effort where mostly recorded using self-generating modular patches. However, the musician’s editing and assembling also come to play here, a reflection that our creative activity will always be a nexus between us and our technology. Stewart explains,
“Having this human touch and adding a human aesthetic shows that human interaction is still necessary in the process of creation and manipulation.”
