The Seshen is currently wrapping up their co-headlining tour with James Supercave. Live Eye Tv caught up with the SF-based 6-piece last night in Seattle at The Sunset Tavern. The band is led by vocalist Lalin St. Juste and bassist/producer Akiyoshi Ehara and it features percussionists Chris Thalmann and Mirza Kopelman, as well as Mahesh Rao on keyboards and Kumar Butler on sampler.
St. Juste is a captivating presence and her electrifying performance was supported by her band’s commanding musical abilities. Playing tracks from their 2016 LP Flames & Figures (Tru Thoughts), the group expertly combined hip-hop grooves with a synth-pop sensibility, delivering the kind of warm and inviting musical set you just don’t want to end.
The Seshen only has two remaining dates on their co-headlining tour with the LA psych-pop band James Supercave. Check them out after the photos…
