Medical Records‘ techno focused imprint Transfusions will release the Celldöd EP Kall Fusion on February 26th. The work of Swedish producer Anders Karlsson, since 2014 Celldöd has released several cassettes under his own label Brutal Disciplin. In addition, he has releases out on electronic labels like Suction Records, Kess Kill, Smashing Tape, and Femur–as well as a 2017 collaboration with Jonas Rönnberg (Vargdöd) on Opal Tapes.
On Kall Fusion, Karlsson’s hardware-driven cuts exude a serious EBM vibe, with strong industrial techno underpinnings. On the EP’s title track, smoldering bass drives the action with speaker ripping distortion as a murky kick drum beats through the black muck. Meanwhile, razor-sharp percussive elements flash thru the mix like diamonds in the mud, as storms of noise and Karlsson’s spoken exhortations echo with growing menace.
