Wimps have just the cure for what ails you, and it’s called the “Mope Around.” The Seattle-based pop-punk trio is currently readying the release of their Garbage People LP and it’s due out July 13th on Kill Rock Stars. The band features Rachel Ratner on guitar, Matt Nyce on bass, and Dave Ramm on drums. The upcoming album follows up on the group’s 2015 long-player Suitcase, and it finds them expanding on their previous instrumentation to include saxophone and keyboard.
Tackling issues like gender pay inequality, diminishing bee populations, insomnia, and the occasional desire to pilfer a cheese pizza, “Mope Around” must be what the band does when they’re not writing ultra-catchy tunes about the decline of Western civilization. So, put on that pair of ratty old sweats and pull the blinds on the summer sun cause everyone’s doing the mope around.
