Watch: Chromatics “Blue Girl”

While an official release date has yet to be announced, Chromaticsrunning playlist for their long awaited fifth album Dear Tommy (Italians Do It Better) updated today with the addition of a new track called “Blue Girl.” The 21-track playlist already included two unheard yet previously announced tracks, the opening number “Fresh Blood” and the closing cut “Endless Sleep.” In addition, the album will include the tracks “Dear Tommy,” “Shadow,” and “Black Walls,” as well as today’s new addition. Currently packaged as a 5-track EP which you can stream below, the song also comes with the alternate versions “Say Goodbye,” “Don’t Say A Word,” “Drummless,” and “Instrumental.”

Chromatics’ video for “Blue Girl” was shot by Rene Hallen, who also did the honors on the band’s recent visuals for “Black Walls.” Once again featuring the group on a mysterious sound stage somewhere lost in time, singer Ruth Radelet‘s enigmatic presence is spellbinding as she holds a reflective silver apple or sings coolly from a lit mirror. Meanwhile, her bandmates accompany her as they alternately don black leather attire or ivory-colored dinner jackets, and they can often be seen staring with disaffected gaze and zombie-like eyes back into the camera.
