Welcome to the angelic now…PJS is a hardware-based electronic duo that hails from Vancouver Island, BC. Featuring the musicians Jordan Christoff and Patrick Dique, today the pair has released their limited edition cassette Sweet La Vie on Leaving Records. The label’s founder and musician Matthewdavid stumbled upon the duo via a demo, and they are the newest addition to Leaving Records’ New Age & Ambient series–following releases by PLUM (aka Chaz Bundick), Gifted & Blessed, and Cool Maritime.
Christoff and Dique recorded the cassette’s six tracks between 2013 and 2016 using only live gear. The perfect listen on a long summer’s day, the pair’s sonic explorations drift between sun-filled expanses and shady bowers. Using synthesizers, delay, and samples, PJS craft meditative ambiance with some serious nods to classic New Age. Watch the nature-inspired and eye-melting visuals for “Gladys (Hummingbirds).”
