The Voms‘ recent video for their track “Left Right” proves the old adage that “every dog has it’s day.” The visuals are directed and edited by the band’s frontman Beau Harris, and they star his pooch, Vinnie. A street pup rescued from the mean streets of Texas, where he was found by a rescue organization sleeping on an old sofa in a back alley, Harris explains that his lovable canine is “VERY serious about his food…And he still loves to snatch a bit of street trash any chance he gets.” In the video for “Left Right,” Vinnie plots revenge after his callous master fails to share a bag of microwave popcorn.
Discussing his doggie-inspired masterpiece, Harris explains,
“I’d had all these grand visions about how the scenes were going to be shot…and literally within two minutes of starting to film, I realized NONE of that was going to happen.”
With the storyboard scrapped, the director was left to improvise, and the results are sure to entertain. While dog lovers have long wondered just what goes on behind those little hungry eyes, who knew it could come to this?
“Left Right” is the lead track off The Voms 2015 LP I Want My Rock Stars Dead. The result of years of plotting and planning, the album was finally recorded over a fortnight on a farm by Harris himself in his home country of Australia. Mastered by Shellac bassist, and prolific producer/engineer Bob Weston, the LP was finally released after Harris relocated to his current home in Brooklyn. The Voms are getting set to record a follow-up EP for release this Fall, with further video projects planned for later this year. In addition, you can catch The Voms live at the Tender Trap in New York on July 20th.
